AMMU: Deceased sarpanch and Congress leader Ajay Pandita, who was killed by terrorists on Monday, was cremated in Jammu on Tuesday. His father said that Pandita worked for common people and was brave. "The terrorists fired on him from the back as they feared him," he said.

A relative of Pandita alleged that he had asked for security cover but no security was provided to him.

जम्मू: सोमवार को आतंकवादियों के हाथों मारे गए सरपंच और कांग्रेस नेता अजय पंडिता का मंगलवार को जम्मू में अंतिम संस्कार कर दिया गया।  उनके पिता ने कहा कि पंडिता आम लोगों के लिए काम करती थीं और बहादुर थीं।  उन्होंने कहा, "आतंकवादियों ने उस पर पीछे से गोलीबारी की, क्योंकि वे उससे डरते थे।"

 पंडिता के एक रिश्तेदार ने आरोप लगाया कि उसने सुरक्षा कवच मांगा था लेकिन उसे कोई सुरक्षा मुहैया नहीं कराई गई।






The Kashmir BJP Panchayat Raj Cell (Kashmir) today paid tribute to the slain sarpanch at party headquarter in Srinagar. Tens of BJP workers and office-bearers jointly paid tribute to the deceased Sarpanch, who was killed yesterday by unknown terrorists outside his home.

demanded a judicial probe into the murder of a minority community Sarpanch in Jammu and Kashmir`s Anantnag district.

Satish Mahaldar, Chairman of Reconciliation, Return and Rehabilitation of Migrant Pandits said in a statement, "Ajay Pandita was living in the Valley because of his unbounded love for his motherland and his concerns about the village he was living in".

 प्रवासी पंडितों के पुनर्विचार, वापसी और पुनर्वास के अध्यक्ष सतीश महालदार ने एक बयान में कहा, "अजय पंडिता अपनी मातृभूमि के प्रति अपने अटूट प्रेम और गांव के बारे में अपनी चिंताओं के कारण घाटी में रह रहे थे"।
