Order for work from home to government employees in UP, no relief to officials

According to the government order issued in Uttar Pradesh, the employees working from home will have to keep in touch with the office through their mobile and electronic means during this period and they can be called to the office if needed.
• All the officers of Group A-B must come to office
• 50 percent of C-D group employees will be able to work from home
In view of the ever increasing case of Corona virus in Uttar Pradesh, the state government has issued new instructions regarding the presence of employees in government offices according to which all the officers of Group A and B will be present in the office. But C and D group employees will be able to work from home (work from home).
According to the mandate issued by the state government, in view of the increasing number of corona infects in the state, Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary and Secretary level officers and department heads have been asked to assess the status of social distancing in offices.

It was also said that these officers should get permission from their departmental minister regarding the permission from work from home on the basis of roster up to 50 per cent employees of Group C and Group D. While all the officers of Group A and B will be present in the office.
As per the government order, employees working from roster based home will have to stay in contact with the office through their mobile and electronic means during this period and they can be called to the office if needed. Similar arrangements can also be made for subordinate offices, local bodies and corporations etc.
However, this order will not be applicable to those employees who are involved in casual and essential services and are engaged in prevention of corona epidemic.

• Corona help desk in office
The government order also said that Corona Help Desk should be set up in every office, so that the epidemic can be prevented from spreading. Thermal scanning of employees coming to every office must be done. Also, sanitizer etc. should also be arranged. Apart from this, the office should also be protected from infection.
The mandate said that if there are cases of corona infection in an office, then that office should be disinfected in 24 hours so that the office does not have to be closed and people do not have any inconvenience. During this, adherence to social distancing and use of masks should also be ensured.
The number of work from home employees will be collected by each department from the government and will be made available to the personnel department by 14 July.
